Carl Lester Tanner, age 88 of Malakoff passed away on June 17, and entered into his heavenly home.
Carl "Red" was born in Malakoff to his parents Emory Ambrose and Minnie Lee Bell Tanner. Red was one of twelve children born in this family.Â
He served our country in World War II in the Navy.Â
He owned a Television repair shop downtown for many years. He was also a cattle rancher.
December 31, 1975 Carl married his sweetheart Wanda Willingham.Â
He is preceded in death by his parents E.A. and Minnie Lee Tanner, brothers and sisters Maggie Lee Tanner, Donald Ray & Doris Mae Tanner, Richard Tanner, Jessie Jack Tanner, Clarence Weldon Tanner, E.A. Tanner Jr., Velma Johnson and Corine Tanner.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Wanda Tanner, children Carl David Tanner, James D. Rogers and wife Lori Kim Rogers, four grandchildren Payton Tanner, Logan Tanner, Brook Rohrbacker, Donnie Taylor Rogers, two great-grandchildren Samantha Brook Rohrbacker, Trenton Rohrbacker, and sisters Inez Green and husband Bill, and Loretta Petty.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, Malakoff Tuesday June 20 from 1 PM - 2 PM with service starting at 2:00. Bro. Jody Jones will officiate.
Pallbearers will be James Rogers, Tommy Tanner, John Tanner, Joel Tanner, Malcomn Quattlebaum, Ricky Allinen, Mike Petty, Neal Brenckman.
Interment will be in Post Oak Cemetery.
