Carolyn Kaske

January 19, 1943 — February 5, 2018

Carolyn J. Kaske, aged 75, died peacefully on February 5, 2018, near her home in Trinidad, Texas, after suffering a stroke. Carolyn was born January 19, 1943, in Henrietta, Texas, the daughter of Hazel and Bertha Irwin. She had one brother, Eddie Ray Irwin, who passed away in 2007.
Carolyn thoroughly enjoyed crafts, including painting, coloring, and drawing. Birthdays and holidays were very special to her, and she always remembered every single grandchild's birthday. Family and friends truly brought Carolyn joy and happiness.
On June 30, 1989, Carolyn married the love of her life, Edward Kaske. The first ten years of marriage, they owned and managed the Copper Door steakhouse in Westland, Michigan. They then decided to venture to Ocala in 2001 to enjoy and relax in the Florida sunshine. In 2014, Carol wanted to return to her home state of Texas and relive parts of her childhood on a country farm, complete with horses, cattle, chickens, dogs, and cats. Carolyn loved to cook, and she even grew her own vegetables in her garden. Carolyn and Ed traveled across many states.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Edward Kaske; her sons, Stephen Lucas (wife Melanie) of St. Clair Shores, Michigan and Mark Lucas (wife, Shannon) of Burnet, Texas; stepchildren - John Kaske, Sue Klott, Jim Kaske, and Linda Jones; numerous grandchildren - Dakota, Desiree, Colton, Austin, Micah, Abby, Luke, Rosanne, Tyler, Zachary, Hailee, Hannah, Tim, Samantha, Jacquelynne, Jenelle, Katelyn, Ransom, Jacob, Emily, and Reese; great grandchildren - Tristan, Isla and Thea-Jane; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
A Memorial Service for family members and friends will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the Living for the Brand Cowboy Church, located at 902 Northeast Texas Loop 7, in Athens, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Carolyn's name to The American Stroke Foundation.
