Cody Ray Nichols, 36, passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2024 in Houston, TX.
He was born November 15, 1987 in Dallas, TX to his loving parents Rusty Nichols and Cindy Garvin.
Also known as "Cody Bear" or "Coco", Cody was raised in Mesquite Texas where he attended North Mesquite High. He was someone that could always make you laugh even when you didn't want to, his pranks and jump scares always lit you up, even on your worst day.
Cody grew up with a strong love for the water. His passion was to be on the beach or at the lake with a rod and reel in hand. His happy place was at the beach, toes in the sand, with his children. He could often be found there doing doughnuts in his front wheel drive car on the beach, leaving the world guessing as to how he never got stuck. Cody loved being a father, his children gave him purpose and his entire face would light up any time he was with them.
Cody despised conflict, he truly wished for everyone to love one another, he was a peacemaker, he loved deeply, the kind of love most people spend a lifetime searching for.
He is survived by his spouse Marina Guetierrez; father Rusty Nichols; mother Cindy and husband John Garvin; children Nevaeh and Aiden; Siblings, Jason and wife Tamra, Shelby and husband Kane, Cyreena and husband Wesley; grandmother; Sandra Murphey; Multiple nephews and 1 niece that think Uncle Cody is the greatest ever.
He is preceded in death by his "Maw-Maw" Carol Morrison and "Papaw" Thomas Wells
