JB Preston

James B. Preston, 96, of Trinidad, TX was called to his heavenly home on May 19, 2024.

He was born June 2, 1927, in Waxahachie, TX to Hulon and Edna Preston.

JB served our country in the Army during World War II.

Through his life-long career as a grocery man he served in many capacities. He was an owner of the Food Fare grocery stores. JB served as president of both the "DFW Grocers and Texas Retail Grocers Associations" and served on the board of the "National Retail Grocers Association". After he retired in 1990, JB devoted his life to his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, fishing, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Almeda Preston, his parents Hulon and Edna Preston, brother and sister-in-law Herman and Ruie Preston.

His legacy continues to live on with his daughter Jamie Preston, son Marcus Preston and daughter-in-law Debra Preston, grandchildren Amanda Short and husband Gregg Short, Jason Harbin and wife Stephanie Harbin, Alissa Preston, great-grandchildren Baird Harbin, Jordan Short, Shelby Short, Nicholas Harbin, Holden Prince, great-great grandchildren Alli Harbin, Jackson Harbin, Adeline Harbin, nieces and nephews Laurie Wallin, Marisa DiIorio, Greg Preston, Linda Bouma, Brad Preston, and a multitude of wonderful friends.

Visitation service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church, Tool, TX. Service will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Hamilton Beeman Cemetery, Corsicana, TX.
