Jim Stephenson moved to his heavenly home on February 12, 2024, at 68 years old. Jim was born September 27, 1955, in Lampasas, Texas and named James Patterson Stephenson, Jr. Most of his younger years he was called Jim Pat or
J.P.
Jim's family moved to Corsicana, Texas in the late 1950's. He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1974. Jim had a strong work ethic, dedicated and loyal to the day of his death.
He married Melody Gaye Mauldin in 1987. In 2003 they established a lakefront home on Cedar Creek Lake in Tool, Texas. He enjoyed being outside in the yard or on the lake. Jim always had a project going whether it was building something or repairing something. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He was a loved customer service associate at Lowe's in Gun Barrel City for the last fourteen years. He earned numerous service awards with the company and customers would seek him out for help and advice on their projects. Jim was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Tool, Texas and served as a leader in the AWANA children's program for several years.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, James P. Stephenson, Sr., mother, Joann Finney Stephenson, and father-in-law Joe B. Mauldin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Melody Stephenson, sister, Kathy Campbell and husband, Dr. Dale Campbell, mother-in-law, Sherry Pugh, sisters-in-law, Jennifer Mauldin and Debra Smith, and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10 AM Saturday, February 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Tool
A funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Brother Rocky Weatherford officiating. Interment will be at 2 PM in Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana, Texas.
Pallbearers are Brian Campbell, Dale Campbell, John Gaddis, Chris Gentry, and
Rob Myers. Honorary pall bearers are Lewis Burrows and Brian Hill.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
