Jean Cole

Jean Evelyn Cole (née Lane) passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, in Gun Barrel City, Texas, at the age of 93. She was born on May 13, 1931, in Lubbock, Texas. Jean's long life was marked by her warmth and dedication to her community. She loved reading the Bible and having Bible study with friends. As a Christian, she spent her life witnessing to as many people as she could. She was very active in her community at the assisted living she called home.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents and brother Billy Lane.

She is survived by daughters Susan Kay Stewart of Trinidad and Linda Jean Johnson of Trinidad; grandchildren Christy Doss, Melissa Perry, Rebecca Johnson, Mikael Johnson; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation for Jean will take place at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff, TX on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 6-8 PM. Her funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, and interment will follow at Trinidad Cemetery. Bro. Charles Kimble will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the SPCA in Jean's memory, honoring her love for animals.
