Joey Lee Williams, 84 years, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday September 4, 2019 surrounded by loved ones at her home in Oak Wood Assisted Living facility. Â
She was born on Thursday August 8, 1935 in Dallas, the daughter of the late Eljin Lee and the late LillieVecreta (Baker) Wooten. Joey graduated from high school in the Dallas area. Her life long passion was painting. She taught art for 25 years in Mesquite, TX before moving to the Cedar Creek Area; where she continued teaching private lessons. Her work can be viewed locally at Ochoa's Mexican Restaurant in Malakoff, TX and the Pennsylvania Dutch Bakery in Kemp, TX.
Joey's survivors include: her son Ronnie Williams, Jr and wife Teresa (Lone Oak, TX), granddaughter, Kaylin Lee Rainbolt and husband Brandon; and great-grandchildren Payton Lee Rainbolt and Preslee Mae Rainbolt.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents Eljin Lee and Lillie Wooten, her husband Ronald Williams, Sr and her sister Vicki Mayfield.                   Â
Joey's Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2019Â at 11:00AM at Baker Cemetery CR 4042, Kemp.
Services will be officiated by Charles Turner.
Services are under the direction of Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, Seven Points.
