Lloyd E. Thomas Jr of Eustace, TX passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at his home. Tommy, as his friends knew him, was born October 24, 1951 to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd E. Thomas.
Tommy had a bigger than life personality and never met a stranger. He always had a GREAT story to tell. So many hung on each word of his adventures! He was a master carpenter, just like his father, and had many hobbies. He and his father enjoyed making handmade canes, and always had projects going.
He loved everyone and had a special way of making everyone feel they were his hero. In his younger days, his mother would often leave her seat in the church choir to grab him by the ear during a service, if he was acting up. She still tells the story often about her letting him buy his first motorcycle and following him home for the first time. He excelled in basketball during his high school years at McKinney High, graduating in 1970. Went from there to the wide-open roads on his Harley. His mother has had many sleepless nights worried about him and his motorcycle.
The last few years he was able to enjoy the lake and get plenty of fishing in . His mother enjoyed his daily calls telling her about his adventures at Lake Whitney. There will be several memorials held by some of his closest friends in this area. Tommy was preceded in death by his father; Lloyd Thomas Sr., and treasured son; Chaney Lloyd Thomas.
He is survived by his mother, three sisters, three nephews, one niece, and many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. A family memorial will be announced when plans can be made for a memorial for both he and his son Chaney.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Boone Pickens Foundation. https://www.prescs.org/ways-to-give/ 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 "For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."
