Ray Weaks, 93, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was called to his heavenly home on June 12, 2024.
He entered this world on January 1, 1931 in Malakoff, TX, born to Wilford and Ida (Allen) Weaks.
Ray served as a Marine and earned the Korean Service Medal with star as well as the United Nations Ribbon. In 1953 he married the love-of-his-life, Betty Hennessee. Ray worked as a surveyor. He retired from TP&L after 35 years on the job. He was a member of Hilltop Worship in Malakoff, TX. Ray served on the church board for 15 to 20 years and was instrumental in building the worship center on the hill.
He is preceded in death by his parents Wilford and Ida Weaks; brother Atwood Weaks; sister Mary Lou Hustead; and son-in-law Phil Street.
Ray is survived by the love-of-his-life, for 71 years, his wife Betty Weaks; children Diana Hayes & husband Tommy, Lisa Street. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Jason Hayes & wife Heather, Holly James, Parker Street & wife Ashley, Karson Street; and eleven great-grandchildren. Ray's surviving siblings are Billy Weaks & wife Judy, Jerry Weaks & wife Joyce, and Patricia Bell.
Pallbearers will be Alex Thlang, Ryker James, Parker Street, Cameron Rogers, Clint Weaks & Todd Hustead. Junior pallbearer will be Jack Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Jackson, Karson Street, Howard Hoskins, Billy Weaks, Jerry Weaks, and Stephen Bell.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM Friday June 21, 2024 at Hilltop Worship, Malakoff TX, with service to follow at 2:00 PM. Officiating the service will be Bro. Derek Rogers, Bro. Tommy Hayes, and Bro. Jason Hayes. Interment to follow at Malakoff Cemetery.
