Richard L Diehl

Richard L. Diehl, of Scurry, TX, passed away suddenly Friday morning in Kaufman, TX at Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born 73 years ago in Omaha, NE the son of William (Bill) Lamar Diehl and Luella Beamon Diehl. Being a man of longevity, Richard served our country in the US Navy and Navy Reserves for 12 years during which time he received several military honors. He went on to have a 22 year career with the Bureau of Federal Prisons, Department of Justice. He is survived by his family of three daughters and Kristina Diehl, Nicole and husband Rob Thompson, Tami and husband Dan Shinedling and one son Tony Hollis. His legacy continues with eight grandchildren Brandon Bailey, Kahli Gardner, Logan Gardner, Sara Spera, Rubie and Tatum Shinedling and Brennon and Addison Hollis. Other family include four brothers, Stephen Diehl, Dennis Diehl, Harold Diehl, and Gerald Diehl; and one sister, Bonnie Crosby. He was preceded in death by his wife Gail Haynes; daughter Michelle Jeter; brother Donald Diehl; and parents Bill and Luella Diehl. Memorial services be held at 10:00am on Tuesday at the Chapel of the Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Homes, Seven Points, TX at with Wayne Pitchford officiating. Interment will be Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 2:00pm at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX with Navy Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the National Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
