Shirley Tapp, age 83,went to meet her Lord and Savior on May 19, 2021. Shirley was born in Dallas, TX to Dan Varnel and Addie Mae Kirbie. Shirley married Chester Eugene Tapp on December 19, 1954 and has been in the Cedar Creek area since 1979.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dan Kirbie (Father) and Addie Kirbie (Mother). Her husband Chester Eugene Tapp and siblings who also preceded her in death are brothers G.D. Kirbie and Lonnie Kirbie, sisters, Velma Woodard, Gladys Thomas, Margaret Whiteside, Joy Bynum and Stella Clark. She had two son who also have passed; Perry and Wesley Tapp.
Children who are still living are Bonnie Uptmor, and sons Michael Tapp and David Tapp. Buddy Kirbie is Shirley's brother. Her legacy lives on in her 28 Grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, friends and loved ones.
Public Viewing will be held Monday, 24th of May, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:00am at the Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City. Bro Ken Maddox will officiate the services.
Interment will take place at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX at 2:30pm following the funeral service on Tuesday the 25th of May.
Pallbearers are Danny Reschke, Eugene Uptmor, Jeremy Uptmor, Chris Uptmor, Brian Hendrickson and Bradley Uptmor.
Services are under the direction of Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Homes in Malakoff and Seven Points.
