Vergil Cozart

Vergil Cozart of Malakoff, TX passed away on July 25, 2014 in Athens, TX at the age of 80. Vergil was born on June 1, 1934 in Cisco, TX to Marvin Lee Cozart and Pearlie Callaway Cozart. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Chillicothe Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Doris Cozart, sons, Billy Jack, Danny Ray, Kenny and Michael Cozart, step sons, Damon Lee, Kenneth James, Donnie Dewayne Covert, step sons, Thomas Ray, Robert Carl Franklin, step daughter, Tammy Belinda Franklin, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Pearlie Cozart, wife, Veta Doreen Day, step mother, Margaret Cozart, 3 brothers. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Scranton Cemetery in Scranton, TX In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Chillicothe Volunteer Fire Department.
