Willie Cooley, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend was called to his eternal resting place on March 30, 2023.
He entered this world on August 18, 1941 in Corsicana, TX, born to William and Lillie (Tempton) Cooley. His family recalls Willie's story of picking cotton, as a young boy. When he was through picking, he would find a shade tree and lay on the full bag of cotton to rest. Willie loved cars and was a great mechanic. He often told of an old red truck of which he was particularly fond. Willie did ranch work before getting a job at Texas Clay (which later became Acme Brick) in Malakoff, TX. He worked for the company for a total of 28 years as a truck driver then a mechanic. When he wasn't working, Willie enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Lillie Cooley; daughter Tammy Cooley; and great-grand child Alexis.
He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Marian (Airheart) Cooley. His legacy lives on through his children Willie Frank Cooley, Tressa Garcia, Sharon Crowell & husband Rickey, Carolyn Johnston, Judy Pruitt, Molinda Greenwood, Lesslie Greenwood, Barbara Greenwood; grandchildren Vicky, Sophia, Maria, Matthew, Juan Carlos, Bianca, James, Heaven, David, Beverly, Christian, Kari, Stephanie; great-grandchildren Selena, Elizabeth, Jesus, Raul, Marcus, Rebecca, Mariah and Victoria.
On Tuesday April 4, 2023, Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, in Malakoff, TX, will have a visitation from 1-2 PM, funeral service from 2-3 PM with interment to follow at Trinidad Cemetery, Trinidad, TX, Bro. Michael Bacon officiating.
